About too attempt some body work....

those are my bad spots. both are solid and are not rotted thru. just bubbled paint and surface rust.

i am new to this so ima give it a shot as i like to turn my own wrenches.

i bought a cheap grinder to get the surface rust off. i got some rust remover for after i get it down. some filler to reshape it after.
and all the diff cleaning and prep products that are recomended for prepping the **** for paint. my question is.. anything i should look out for when i do this. other than bein very careful with the grinder? sandblasting etc is out of the question for me and id rather try this route first before welding in new metal seeing as its not rotted. if i **** it up i dont care. then ill go somewhere for some new sheet metal.

Those shouldn't be that bad. I had similar rust except less severe. Just make sure you grind out all the rust and after you bondo be sure to seal it.

anything i can buy in a spray can from a store like a vht brand or something that will seal it good. as right now i dont wanna spend big bucks on good primer. atlrast not till i do the entire car.

i have a variety of primers one says it resists rust. will this work as a temporary fix(2 months or so)?

I've always been told primer dosn't seal. In the fall of 2002 I painted a small part of my car that had some surface rust. Sanded it down, primered it and painted with touch up paint. When i sanded that area down this past december it didn't have rust under it. The paint looked horrible after a year of weather but it protected it.

i know you can get primer that does seal it well but its real $$$$

i want something cheap in a can that will work for ike a month or 2.

reason being as i painted my s10 front clip wit cheap primer 3 years ago and it doesnt have any rust yet. im sure it is on its way out tho

so i figure for 2 months it will be ok.

because when i redo it ima have a shop do it.

i jus wanna send it in without rust
