Hello 3gc,

Here is what I have on it at the moment, hope this will help you out. It's kind of funny, but I just changed out my whole locking mechanism on the drivers side about two months ago. Went to a local junkyard and got the whole set-up for both sides including power lock actuators for $10.00 and about 30 minutes of my time removing them. They came out of a 92RS and took that long because I wasn't in a big hurry and just enjoyed the day.

THANK YOU! I definately have it on wrong. Also on a side note, stay away from reproduction door handles. The ones i got have a little too much play on the side opposite the bump stop. If you pull it up a certain way it'll rub against the door. I had to shim it with a washer.

Hey 3gc,

Glad to help and thanks for the side note there. A friend of mine found that out the hard way a couple of years ago. Almost drove him nuts trying to figure it out. Finally got fed up with it and tried adjusting it with a BFH, we know the outcome of that. He finally went to a junkyard and got a set of almost brand new handles off a 92RS that had an argument with a 6' high chain link fence.

Heh. I thought it was safe to skimp on the door handles and not get GM ones, guess I was wrong.

I agree. Gotta dish out the cash on that one & get the GM part. I learned alot about the quality of aftermarket & GM parts after doing an entire interior redo & paint job.

I redid my interior also. Not really much you can get aftermarket that you can still get through GM. I did learn to stay away from ACC carpet though. I don't like the way it wears.

i got mine from a junk yard, occasionally the scrap yard has ones that feel like new, plus its like one of gm's all time common parts, just make sure its the right length as some are slightly different

and as for the rods, what a PITA
