Well if the wind passes where the scoop is Im sure it can be made functional. And Im sure its possible that someone HAS done it out there. Why say nobody has done it. thats a big statement. If its possible bets are someone has done it. Not every 3rd gen driver goes to this site.

loose the attitude....he's talking about on this site.

it's very possible, however to truly get the best of it you would need to either run a tbi style air cleaner or modify your tpi air induction. that or those with custom intercoolers for their superchargers sometimes mount them above the tpi unit in which case it would help.
anything can be done if you want it enough.

im goin to a carb instead of tpi. imo, less parts and a hell of a lot cheaper. im not lookin for killer power, just around 375hp or so. ive only seen pics of the top side of that hood. the only hood ive seen pics of the underside of is the Jongbloed hood, which im also considering. yea they both look good, but why not have them functional as well? i kno the jongbloed hood is.

30 some rwhp by having induction working on the hood???? sounds rather off to me for such a thing but you never know, where is the kit then as i only see the pontiac ram air setup....
i highly doubt it would gain that much on a 260rwhp car but i'd be willing to try it depending on how it's designed.

those are really low numbers for those cars...
i don't see why you couldn't make it functional. cut out the scoop and make a mold outta fiberglass for the underside to catch the air. i've got a lot of crazy ideas on how to make it work. i'm sure someone already made it an actual ram air hood already though.
if you've ever seen the underside of the 4thgens hawks, all they use is a weatherstripping mold that lines up the the open air filter element when the hood is shut. very simple design. cost you less then 60 bucks to make with parts from home depot.

I'll see if I can find the picture....but there was one person that had modified an LT1 SS ram air box to fit under the 82-92 SS hood. It was tig welded together and it looked professional...now..I just have to find the picture....
