T-Top Headliner Question

My 91 has a T-Top(the C&C ones) and the headliner around the middle is frayed and torn. It sucks because the rest of the interior is in great shape. I'm guessing being out here in Cali the tops were off frequently and people hung there arms off the center bar. At least that's what the wear looks like happened...

My question is does anyone know of a cheap repair for the cloth. I'd like to avoid replacing the whole headliner. The cardboard-like filler is about 3/4" or so thick and the cloth is worn completely off the edges so I can't draw them together or anything.

Being C&C, do they even make headliners for those tops?

I can't think of anything and any cheap, quick fix will probably be hokey but are there any ideas out there?

Thanks...!

pepboys sells headliner material, its called HeadsUp and the grey i got matched the rest of the interior exactly. carefully take the headboard out of the car and remove the old fabric and backing and apply the new fabric. i think theres a tech article on how to do it.

good luck!

Cool...I'll check into that. Mine is also grey. That'd be great if I could just do that center section.

This is easy to do. Just make sure you brush all the old foam off the board. Use 3m adhesive spray to hold the new material on. Did mine a year ago and no problems and looks great.

The Pep Boy's stuff is too expensive. Go to Jo Ann's fabrics or another fabric store and they should also have headliner material that is like the stock one. You'll want to do the whole thing not just the center section.
