Fixing the Hail Damaged Iroc?

I checked out the a 97 Z28 (m6) Friday and it is very nice, wouldn't mind owning it but.....when I went over to my grandparents I decided to start my Iroc up just to make sure she stays running. She started up and just started purring.

I started walking around her and decided that she isn't ready to die yet. I think I will take her back to the bodyshop and have them replace the hood (with a 3" cowl ) the roof skin and pass side rear 1/4 panel and weld in some SFC's. Thinking about putting a 91-92 Z28 Spoiler on there too. I'll probably take it to a paintless dent removal place for all the other hail damage on the frt. fender and doors etc.

Paint can wait, I was going to drop the car off at my mechanic and have him do the AFR Heads/Stealthram/LT4 hotcam/Headers/Gears.

With what I could spend buying a 4th gen, I can make the Iroc pretty nice.

Paint and Interior will have to be done eventually but since it won't be a daily driver I'm not too worried about it.

1 Question though. Do you think Hooker SC Longtube headers is the way to go? Would I be better off with SLP 1 3/4" headers?

BTW this isn't a finalized decision, but it seems to be a smarter one.

Opinions?

Just talked to the bodyman. He said if I supply the hood then he will do everything else for $2500-$3000 depending on if I change the body color (to black ).

Does that sound like a good deal?

Mike,
That's a pretty good price if they're painting the whole car.
A color change is a whole 'nother animal, though, the labor involved is about another 1/3 of the cost of a complete
Good luck!!!

That's a smokin' deal!!!! If you were ever thinkin' about changing the color... do it.
We usually charge @ 1200.00 extra for a color change. (That's labor for removing all the panels, cutting in the back sides, pretty much treating them like new panels, edging in all the jambs, detrim interior, etc...)
