What's the best way to remove stickers/decals without causing problems with paint...so that I can put new stickers/decals back on?

 

You could use a heat gun or even a hair drier but don't spend too much time on one spot.

 

Hair dryer is the best, they peal right off.

 

I just did this last week to my iroc. using a heat gun moderately will take the decals off no problem. the adhesive that is left behind is the bitch. i used a product called OOPS and a clean rag. soak a small spot on the rag and rub it onto the adhesive till you see it start to flake. take a plastic putty knife and just rub it away. you'll probably have to keep rubbing the adhesive remover on it, it just seems to come off better when it's wet. A friend of mine suggested 3M adhesive remover, but i had this sitting in the garage. I got a lot of compliments since i removed the decals, hope this helps.

 

One other method is to use an eraser wheel purchased from an automotive paint store designed to remove stripes and decals along with the adhesive. It works very well with an electric drill motor and amazingly does harm most cured paints. Especially effective on old decals. Try it, you'll like the results. Dave
