triangle window seals

My car was broken into and the body shop that fixed it had to weld a new skin on the drivers side door. now the triangle in front of the window doesnt seal against the weather strip above it. is there any way to adjust this?

Yeah, but its a little work... you'll have to take the inner door panel off first. That triangle seal is attached to a small length of window track. The whole seal/track assembly is bolted to a bracket. Now its been almost 2 years since I adjusted mine, so I can't remember exactly, but I think there are 2 bolts... loosen them, readjust the position of the seal, and retighten... that's how it was on my Firebird at least...

It's not all that bad if you've taken off the door panels before. Then again... everything's a pain until you figure it out.

Isn't everything a PITA when working on cars? ha ha

CaysE is right - if you've done it before, its not too bad... I've had to take the door panels apart on my car a few times... plus disasseble a parts car... I could do it on a Firebird in 1/2 hr now! First time I did it tho, took me a lot longer...

Here's what you'll be looking at with the door panel off. The adjustments are made at bolts numbered 1,3, and 11.

not hard to do, after panel is off and you have the two phillips head screws out that hold the foam seal stuff out of the way then theres the 10mm nuts to adjust the triangle assembly

good luck
