gotta quick questoin for those v8 dash swappers out there, curious about your tachs...how do they read? I konw that the LS1 cars use the 4 cylinder signal, how about early model v6 cars? or earlier 4th gen v8's, LT1s? I gotta six, and mine reads high, makes me think it's expecting a v8 signal, so an SGI box will be needed, however, i was trying to confirm this by seeing if yours reads correct for a v8 on a v6 tach....only gm could do something sooooooo dumb. LOL, and only I would swap to it.

I bought a V6 Camaro cluster on acident on Ebay and we tested it in my brothers 96 Trans Am and it read high, can't remember if it was double or less.

I then got a 97 Lt1 Camaro cluster and it reads double in the 96 Trans Am. I am not positive if it is a 97, it may be a 98+, but my friend that I got it from said the car was an LT1 car.

I have a 1997 Lt1 cluster in my 90 Iroc and the tach jumps all over the place. Im going to try a tachometer signal divider from this website - http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7erz1/id1.html. Its half the price of the SGI box and it looks like it does the same thing.
