What is used to attach the front lower valance/spoiler to the nose piece. I see holes about an 1" wide along the bottom of the nose piece and around the back of the lower valance, but i don't know what to use to attach these 2 peices together SECURELY! Any help guys? Thanks

I want to call them 'plastic push nuts' or 'plastic push screws', although I'm sure that's not the proper term They're literally plastic, and they look like washers with a small, thin, plastic cylinder going through them. I forget how many of them hold the lower front valance on, but it's quite a few (I'm disassembling my car for restoration, so I've pulled lots of these things). They WILL hold the front valance to the bumper cover securely as long as you have all of them in place - they've held mine on since '89.

I'd hit up your local dealer's body shop and ask them what they're called and where to find them; if you have cool body shop guys like where I live, they'll probably just give a few.

I know I didn't have the technical terms, but hopefully this makes some sense to you

They must be the same type of "plastic push screws" in the nose piece of the SC front bumper cover. They have a large black plastic washer and on the back side they have 2 "legs" that when you push the pin or the screw through they spread apart and hold the "push screw" in place?

Dont bolts hold the lower gfx to the nose piece? Maybe Im thinking of something else but bolts should from behind the nose into the front gfx. The front gfx has threads for the bolts.

Allow me to apologize for making a complete moron of myself on this thread .

Mike is absolutely right; the lower front valance is held in place by (what feels like) 500,000 bolts. They have 10mm heads and they're roughly 1.5" long.

I was thinking 'plastic screws' because the last thing that came off the front of my car was the air dam and splash pans.

Thanks, Mike, for pointing that out; I was totally steering the guy in the wrong direction. I seriously doubt that all those plastic screws would hold the front valance on for very long

Yeah there's definitely about 500,000 bolts holding it on. I had to take my front spoiler off to get it on my ramps. By the way while it was off I repainted it.

Hey no problem man I agree with you on the 500,000 bolts When I sold the one on my car a guy for a freight company was coming to pick it up at 2:00. Since I thought it would be a breeze taking it off I started a like 1:45. Then when I got under there I saw the thousands off bolts Good thing the guy was late.

Yeah, called the Chevy dealer today and sure enough we were right and they look exactly like we though and exactly like that pic. Thanks a lot guys... between the 20 new ones i ordered and the ones that came off the old SC nose piece i should have enough.

You DID order the bolts and not the plastic push screws, right? The push screws don't hold the lower valance to the nose - approximately 15-20 bolts hold it to the nose. You need the push screws for the air dam and the rear bumper cover, however. I apologize if I confused you with something I said.

PS - Dammit. I didn't want to use my 100th post for this, but I couldn't let the guy go with misinformation
