For good reason too. Our doors are extremely heavy, they are an integral part of the unibody chassis structure, they are angled so that making them operate in this manner would be very difficult, and there is no specific direct kit or good universal to do it with.

Sooooooo

Basically there are a couple of big drawbacks and no one thinks it's worth the time, money, and effort.

Yeah, I have read other threads where people have asked this. We pretty much found the doors are just too heavy, and like someone said before, they are an important part of the strength of the body too.

I suppose if you made some lighter doors from fiberglass or something and remade the door frames from something lighter you might be able to pull it off, but how strong they would be or how long they would last cannot be predicted.

I have also seen some people do another mod on the doors, they made suicide doors. the ones I have seen worked ok, but again, the car just is not dsigned to have that aspect changed without a fight.

only if it were so that you could open the door halfway as normal. the newer kits allow you to use the door both ways. that would be ideal and of course it would have to seal the same.

A Daihedral Syncro helix actuation door. Thats what a Koenigsegg door is.
A video explains it much better. Here's the Top Gear review. BTW, this was reviewed long before the Veyron was for sale. The new Koenigsegg CCX makes 800hp+ in stock trim on bioethenol. 1/4 mile stock is in the 9's.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't look at the date of the post i replied to, just the date of the last post in this thread! Oops, replied to a nearly 4 year old post. OOPS!
