Need bright! bulbs

I've just finished tinting my tail lights with that Nightshades stuff. (looks pretty cool too.. ) . Anyway, the loss of light is not extreme, yet I would like to get a set of "super bright bulbs to replace my brake lights and turn signals. Does anyone know where I can get some "brighter than stock" bulbs (if they made silver star replacements, that would be ideal). This is for an 87 IROC

Do they sell that stuff in local automotive shops or does it have to be ordered? Where did you get your stuff from?

I dont think they make regular bulbs that are just brighter but you can always get some leds that will go in place of the regular bulbs, I think you have to get a transistor for some of them in order to go at two different brightnesses.. I've never done it but hopefully someone else will chime in

Think the standard bulb was a 1034, heavyt duty was 1157. Today there is a 2057 that has a brighter turn filament and I think the 3057 is even brighter. Not sure but it's something to check into.

Had to be ordered, no body carries this stuff. best price I found was here.

http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/VH...99_p_1990.html

Don't get too excited though, with shipping it still comes out to like $25 .

With shipping it's $20.99 from Summit, i just did this to my taillights and side markers on my 87 Iroc-Z, I just put in 2057's for the tails and regular 194's in the side markers.

Hey can you post some pics on how yours turned out? I am pretty satisfied with mine, but want to know if it can be done better.

3057 is a totally different connector.

Try 3496. It'll fit, its a little brighter than 2057 IIRC.

Another way to brighten tail lights is to coat the plastic bucket the bulb sits down in with a highly reflective foil, like mylar I think.
