door skin tool for third gens.
i know when i use to work at the local chevrolet dealership we had a tool that made removing the door skind on thirdgen f bodys really easy. i have done numerous google and yahoo searchs w/ zero luck finding this tool. anyone know where to buy one? or something else that works well to get perfect door panels off so the dont seperate at the top like they do when u force them off?

You must be talking about the interior trim panel??
The door skin is the outer metal body panel..
If, in fact you need the trim "clip" removal tool, try, I think, it's aoutbody source.
Check with JeffW, He's purchased a lot of tools from them for PROJECT RESURRECTION.

i can relate to that...took my car in to get a wiper motor replaced at a place here in michigan. they swore they would do a good job and not hurt the brand new door. well they did, screwed it up bad and now i have to go to court.

ok i guess i should have been a little clearer. ive always refered to the interior side as the skin. the christmas tree popper isnt what in talking about. its for the catches at the top of the door. most people lift n yank to get the door skin (interior panel ) off the catches at the top of the door. sometimes this causes the plastic trim to seperate from the backing. it almost looks like a claw? id guess for popping these out w/out putting pressure on the skin(panel) itself. now does anybody know what im talking about?

i have a lot of different ones at my shop, one is like what u described, and one my favrite is like a pair of pliers, sneaks it in there adn grip the handles and it separated the door pannel from the door, no damage, no yanking adn no scratches, you just have o have a strong grip to pull the clips out the door...

that sounds alot like the one the dealership had. it was this funny claw shapped thing. when u depressed it it seperate the two pieces w/ easy. no damage at all. i went by there and they looked at me like i was crazy. i talked to one of my ol tech friends there and they said it was stolen awhile back. damn they took my idea
