Help With Gauges I Need Help Asap

i was putting in some silver gauges from procarparts.com and i think i broke the speedometer is there any ways to test this to make sure because i like need the car tonight and iam hopeing it will be fixed but i dont have the money to get a new speedometer so iam hopeing it isnt broken
i think tis broken cuz when i was backing it out of the grage the speedometer never even moved and same thing when iw as pulling forward please dont say its broken

and another thing iam not sure if i have the needle on all the way how hard r u supose to push it back on??? cuz i can barely feel it when it goes in if it even didnt go into the spot

i didnt break the needle i dont think it still has the long blak plastic tube

could it be the paint i put on it ?? like could it be tooo heavy for it or something like that???

well i found out what it is i didnt break it the paint is too hevay for it i think cuz it u have to get going like 30mph to get it to move up to 15mph could teh paitn be to heavy could that be the problem???
