How to get rid of hatch glass??
I have no idea where to post this, but I'm sure many others have had this problem!!
I have a mint hatch glass with defrost, but its been sitting in my backyard under a tarp for almost a year now. I will never need it, as I bought it just for the mint hatch part.
So, how do I get rid of it? I've put it in everything from classifieds (paper and online), to asking around, FOR FREE mind you, but no one wants it!
Is there a place to get rid of glass? My dump says no. Should I bust it into little pieces and bury it?

you could always put it in a huge bag and bust it . But i cant believe you cant get rid of it . Could you build some hangers for it and have it on your ceiling in your garage or something. Just as a backup glass of something.

Wish I could, but no garage. I thought I might need it, but I've never heard of anyone actually breaking one!

they're fairly easy to break and then just put into a garbage can for garbage. i'd put the hatch glass into a large bag and then smash it. should pop rather easily.

A couple shops that I called told me they can only get unheated glass, and I need heated. Junkyard hatches are either very scratched, or have damaged defrosters.
One shop quoted me $2,100.00 for new unheated glass, with new reveal molding

Just go give it to a junk yard. They'll take it I'm sure. It's better to not destory it so someone else can use it someday when these parts become rare.

What does it weigh? No idea. Nor would I really want to send a giant piece of glass thru the mail... sorry!!
I'll try the local parts yards, never thought of that!

I've got one myself but I'm keeping it incase the one on the car is ever broken. I've known two people who have had their hatch glass broken. You think you're having trouble getting rid of it, just wait 'til you need to find replacement glass!
