hmmm, looks red...jk
kinda reminds me of a 4th gen dash, however, it's not, unless it's been extensively modded (althogh the paint would give me the "modded" idea) however, the lines for the radio pod are a tad to extreme (although something that could be fixed w/ modification) ....
So, i'm gonna guess vette interior. Don't have a pic of the c5 setup infront of me right now. I had the thought to do the vette route, but finding the hardware (dash, doro panels, etc) then making the necessary modifications (would be extensive) would be pain. The end result wouldn't be bad however, wouldn't mind getting c5 leather however, that'd be really slick looking.

Once again, you have raised the bar! (assuming thats your new project)

different car....very similar to what i'll be doing though. just a window to the future for now. using this dash makes my center console work much easier. i also like the use of the headsup display and the ls2 computer will work easier.

so, is that a G-body? noticing the C-pillar there.
Not a bad swap, looks like i twas done very nicely also. My swap was going to consider standard 4th gen leather, in ebony most likely for the rear, w/ bloack upfront. However, i'd most likely have to get the fronts recovered, and add some custom stitch to them to play off the firebird setup. Perfect world, you have a camaro, add airbrushed chevy v-flags on the front fenders (the ones that all the old chevy's had, now only the corvette does) then give the seats the same treatment, would look sick.
That's really well done, and makes me more curious about the door panels, i remember when looking for a set that the differences seemed very very far beyond anything in a 3rdgen, however, it wouldn't be overly difficult to adapt pieces of the c5 doors and add them to a mocked up door panel, to incorporate the c5 look w/o actually using the door panel 100%...aka, build a panel.
Oh, and i'm looking into the HUD units also. Thinking that i'll get one from a pontiac, and modify the housing to fit the contour of my 4th gen dash. They're all over the yard i go to, and could get it for , eh, close to nothing.

Looks like its a nice setup. i am interested in that as well along with a possible sub and amp enclosure like that. It really does set off the interior of the car. Keep us updated if you start on this Kandied!

Thats pretty wild. I would go with a slightly different shape/style, but I think it can be pulled off if its done right. And knowing you, you're not gonna cut any corners.

LOOKS all fiberglass...kandiez how would u expect to fabricate something like that ? like how would u go about doing it..thats some work right there. i guess you just gotta be skilled huh lol looks overdone.. too good ha
1 ? for ya- when you had those 18 z06's what drop would u have went with to lower the fenders so theres not an obvious fender to tire gap... SoRry for the off topic question

JLaudio has some techs up on fiberglass molds and door panels now I noticed yesturday. http://jlaudio.com/tutorials/index.html
LOL, the door panels they made look like they would weigh a fricking ton though, they used a crapload of MDF for the back bones. But it'll give you some ideas.
I've been thinking about a complete fiberglass dash for awhile now. My best guess would be to pull the old dash and mount a big block of foam in it's place and shape the foam with an electric knife. That way you could get the shape perfectly how you want it, then take the foam out of the car carefully and use it as a plug to make a mold. Only thing I can't really figure out is how you could make the backbone to attach it to the firewall. I guess you would always use some simple MDF with liquidnails to the fiberglass then use T-nuts for the mount places. From my thinking the face would be easy to make, but the backbone would be a lot harder.
As for the rest of the interior (center console, comp panels, sub box) all that stuff should be fairly easy just really time consuming.
Let's see some more pics of the subwoofer box!

ahh ok... We'll get us some pics of your new setup you're doing... hehe I'm sure the fabrication board would be fairly interested in it. :-) Some guy on there just built a Ram Air hood design using a stock metal hood for a base.

woudln't be weight effecient, but what about this. YOu take the factory c5 dash and install it, you apply resin over the entire setup, and prep for paint...aka, u treat it like a piece of body work, and do "body work" on it. AFter you finish all of this, you strip the car entirely, leaving nothing but that dash and body, no interior, no glass, etc. The car is then sprayed, attention is payed as much to the interior as it is to the outside, the center console however isn't in the car (if able, allowing you to give a professional install of the carpet. AFter you're all said and done, you start slapping pieces together.
The dash that would be in during the paint would essentially be a shell, you wouldn't have the electronics behind it, the wiring, the ducting (if you actually used any) and especially not the instrument cluster, after you get everything painted, you start the long wiring process making sure you don't scratch ur beuatiful candy paint. When that's all finished up, you install your guages, hvac, LCD setup, carpet, center console, seats, etc....and wvalla, you've got a beuatiful functional vehicle.
jk on the functional, you coudn't change a fuse with that beautiful painted setup w/o ruining your hard work....Least it'd still be beautiful, but not practical for a "daily" driver. And actually, not much more practical for a sunday car, i'd say show car only.

I like the four bucket seats! Back seat passengers are sure to appreciate that!
I saw a late 80s Monte with four Corvette buckets once. Cool idea.

It is almost freaky how many of the mods done to that car were discussed between me and my garage-buddy 3-4 days ago, while in the garage trying to decide on which winter projects to take on....
Looks nice!!
BTW, went to a carshow this weekend. The fiberglass work done to this beamer was insane. Dash, doorpanels, trunk panels, headliner, engine cover - everything was custom fiberglass pieces. Pics doesnt justify the actual work. (Please excuse the non-thirdgen pics as they are only to show what can be done)

looks nice, my painter supply is trying to get me to do a similar color of orange that they use on the new lamborghinis. basically glow orange with gold pearl. i'm still trying to stick to the candy red.
car looks like alot of work, i love these people with the new engine "covers" that hide everything. very easy to make and unfortunately works on the show circuit. definately a cheap way out of the real thing though.

go online, virtually any large car show will have one vehicle like that. many are much more elaborate. it's a cover of sorts that hides all the nasty bs underneath. basically a cheap way out for the owner to clean up the engine bay. some put tv's and even stereo components in there for entertainment.
i prefer a clean engine bay myself and that junk in the back but it's just me. i have plenty pictures of that sort of things but since it isn't related i'll leave it be, they get very wild though...some with live animals in them.

Are you going to be incorporating any sort of TV's into the dash?
I beleieve a good one to take a mold from would be the 3000 Gt or even the Supra's....The dash that curves towards the driver seems to be working out well now......

tv's...no. i will have a monitor for the cameras but it will be a pull out unit. if anything something may be molded into the rear setup somehow but i prefer the look of the stock dash. the curves don't fit the camaro at all.
