What color is that? It's the exact color I want to paint mine, aside from black GFX, black hood, and maybe black halfway up the side.

@daredevil -thanks and yeah i love the shop too, its my dads, he owns a construction business. i am always up there besides when im at school or sleeping lol i dont currently have a job

Anybody have any pics of a third gen painted Jet Stream Blue?

 

ive seen pics on here with out the exterior moldings, i like it alot, makes the car look alot smoother, i plan on doing the same to my car when i paint it.

I did, but they weren't stock handles.

Sure. They are metal, so they can be sanded & painted just like the bodywork.

What rims are those?

 

Those wheels are C5 Corvette deep dish machined face with black vents. One of the very few wheels that looks great on our cars.

And it isn't my car, by the way.

 

where can I find those rims? they are gorgeous.

 

Here is mine it is a PPG Orange with a gold pearl put in the clear with Black on the bottom

 

It's not the best pic but it is the only one I have for now. I still need to cut and buff it.

does anyone on here have a "root beer brown" third gen? i am prepping for paint, and decided on black, but on the fence. i want to do a flashy color, but want to keep it subtle. and i like the cars that have mismatched paint from the t tops. i know the second gens were available in that brown color, but not sure how it would look on my GTA. if i go brown, i might do a deep deep shade of it. not root beer, not copper, not rust. just enough brown to be a brown car, and enough black to pull of the gold trim. so if anyone can track down pics, i tried and came up with nothing. or if you photoshop. i'm not that good at it.

 

Guess you're in luck, the Camaro I bought about 4 months ago happens to be brown. I need to fix it up, but I hope the pictures help.

its beautiful! unfortunately, mine is towards the end of its paint job. black .

i like that dark silver one. wish i could go back and buy that colour instead. but plan on repainting it in a year or two anyways

Hey i am restoring a 89 iroc and im going to be repainting it soon. im wondering if everyone thinks i should keep the plastic trim going across the middle of the door and fenders. Or should i remove it. Whats your opinion on what looks better?

 

Definitely keep the moldings. 1. They're more aerodynamic (which is why they are there) 2. They make the car look more original 3. They say cool camaro instead of budget camaro. Hope that helps!

 

i planned on repainting my 86 iroc as well, and had the same question about the side moldings, i was going to take mine off actually since it looks more smooth, but to each there own.

 

Take them off. Looks cleaner. Aerodynamic? Yeah, uh-huh. They're there same reason every other car has them. To prevent door dings.

 

Chameleon from Du Pont. Dont know the actual code for it or name, was on the car when i bought it. Going thru the process of repainting it right now.

color: gm black: was short on cash after performance upgrades so i took it to maaco and got the 500 dollar deal and for all the people who dog maaco i have to disagree the paint looks amazing

GM Black for 1984 camaro code of 'WA0848'. The car still has the original paint from the factory hopefully I won't have to repaint it for some time.
