I've seen them on thirdgenresource (yeah right, like I'm going to buy from them again) and occassionally on ebay, but does anyone else carry them? I heard that 1AAuto does, but I couldn't find them on their site.

 

i got one off ebay, it was brand new gm original. so that was cool even if it doesn;t matter. there were some used ones listed also. did you chack hawks?

 

Hawk's website doesn't have them either. I'll try calling them tomorrow.

They certainly went out of their way on a simple question. The girl on the phone sounded cute, too.

 

They're also simply orderable at your local GM Dealer.. any GM dealer will get it in for you.. This is the part # 20192907. Make sure you reseal it REAL WELL all around the base of it and under it when re-installing & check for rust holes that might allow for water drainage to occur inside the front of the turret shell.

 

I'm also looking for a t-top bar. The one listed at Hawks says it's for 85-92. I have an 82. Does anyone know what makes the 82-84 t-top bars different?

Different t tops... hook style vs. pin style

I looked at the GM parts catalog. It shows the change occuring in 85. If the ttops have the plastic trip around the edges you use the earlier design. If the ttops don't have the plastic trim you use the later design.
There must be something different (spacer or felt strip) that makes up for the ttop plastic trim not being installed on the later design.
I've removed the plastic trim pieces from my ttops (they were shot). Sounds like I need the later design.

Actually the plastic trim was used on later model t-tops as well. My 92 RS with lexan tops has that trim around them. My 86 with glass tops does not.
