question about painting my car

When i go to paint my car....engine will be out so i can do the engine bay. Should i take off the doors/interior ect ect and the EVERYTHING? also should i take off all the body panels, paint them seperatly then bolt them back on the car? im going from black to gunmetal grey.

i would paint the engine bay and door jams first and then tape them off and paint the car. it is a bitch trying to reassemble the doors after painting them when you paint them without scraching them or the fenders.

Your question is kinda two-fold...
If you're changing color, yes you should take all the parts off. Edge the back side of all the bolt-ons as if they were new panels...
Should you paint everything, and then assemble? No!
87 and 93 is right, you'll definitely scratch something.
Interior coming out is probably a bit of overkill, but it depends on how far you want to go.
