when I took mine off i used some sort of wax and adhesive remover from Meijer. Try that and use a rag to wipe it off or a plastic blade of some sort..that way you won't mess your paint up.

at worst case you can go to the paint shop and buy an "ERASER" for removing side molding glue. works good for sanding pin stripes right off too, wont hurt the paint. its a foam looking thing, and goes right in a DA or high speed drill.

have fun.

Use a plastic scraper and a hair dryer.

3M adhesive remover. i used it to take off all my Formula decals and side trim, getrs it off and doesn't hurt the paint. Also used ti to completely remove all the decals from a 87 Iroc and 86 Firebird.

I use waxed dental floss to remove emblems and mouldings, then use a heatgun/ hairdryer with 3m adhesive remover.
You'll probably need to polish/buff the area when done to remove all the evidence of the moulding and glue.

just a word from someone who's been there done that.... if you have sun-burnt paint (off-color), and your side molding has been there since new in the factory... guess what, your paint under the molding will be pretty darn pristine fresh-from-factory looking even. Might throw off a little... but if you plan to repaint the car eventually anyways, who cares? lol.

OH btw, I never learned about these tools and products people are talking about until I was 3/4 done with removing the quarter panels, and door molding (and a blister for 2 weeks on my thumb to back me up on that ). I used a flathead screwdriver and a rag... and patience and my favorite stash of SWEAR WORDS for 7 hours till I came on here to complain about it hehe.
