Epoxy or Por-15

Hi everyone. I've been sand blasting the engine compartment and pretty much the whole front end of my T/A down to bare metal. I was planning to spray it with Por-15 and then Por primer and the dupont jet black paint. Someone suggested that I should use expoxy primer instead of the Por-15. What do you think? I could do Por-15 where there was rust and then epoxy the whole thing. Let me know what you think.

umm i'm not 100% but i would not use por on the body.

you could do epoxy and the would seal everything real nice or you could do acid etch like picklex and then 2k primer. por 15 would be great on the sub frame though.

i think por 15 is very thick that is why i would not go that route. i would use under car on suspension and floor boards.

I'm not actually doing the outer body panels, just the engine compartment, subframes, supports and stuff. I've got the car pretty darn bare.

if your not painting the engine bay to match the car then i would say go for it por 15 is way more durable that regular paint. so it would be good in the bay if you are not going to paint it with automotive paint. on the lower k member and stuff it is perfect for that. you can also look at the por 15 web site about painting over it i could be wrong about putting paint over it.

i would not reccommend por15 on the engien compartment u cannot spray it on because you would NEVER be able to clean the gun nothing will cut this stuff it must be brushed on it levels out nicley but is not nessacary for the engien compatment i think a epoxy primer such as dp90lf from ppg would look nice with a coat of an acrylic enamle of your color choice shot over it
