window rollers
I'm replacing my drivers side power window motor. I followed vader's PDF and serviced it.
My problem is two of the track rollers will barely turn at all, even after lots of wd40 and white lithium. What can i do to loosen these up, or where can I get replacements?
thanks

Hello Faded,
To clean them you will have to pop them off the posts that they are on and just give them a good cleaning to get all the old crud out them. I don't think that the dealership carries them seperately from the window regulators they come on. Go to a junkyard and get some from a junked car. It doesn't matter what year or if they are powered windows or not. The rollers are the same.

I'm still having some problems. Prying them off with a pickle fork gets them off intact, and putting them back together in a vice works well too.
Problem is, after cleaning them out and adding liberal amounts of lithium grease and wd-40, they still stick just as bad as before. One out of the three spins perfect, but the other two are very stiff.
What can I do to solve this? Should I try sanding the post down a little, or maybe the inside of the rollers?

I replaced both motors and regulators with new GM products in my car this summer. I thought the same thing about the rollers but when I compared the old ones to the new ones, they were about the same. One roller, I think it was the one on the short arm that faces in and rides in the track on the inner door skin, was pretty free but the other two were pretty hard to turn. What I'm saying is that I believe that's the way they are supposed to be. Just be sure to use a generous amount of grease on the tracks.

Yea, they work great. The drivers side motor went bad and the passenger side was pretty slow so I figured I might as well do both side and since I had to take it all a part, I might as well replace the regs too. Not a lot of fun but worth it. Both windows roll up with authority now.
