Resetting needles

Hey guys, I recently had to replace my aftermarket needles and in doing so my temp gauge is reading higher than usual. It reads like about 30-40 degrees higher than it should. I mean its not too big of a deal since i know where bouts it should be staying but its real annoying. Is there a way i can reset it or something. I tried taking the needle off and putting it back further but it still doesnt read correctly.
