Outer Window Sweeps
I just bought a pair of these outer sweeps and have a question on how to install them. The orginal sweeps have a plastic rivet which will break off when removing the old sweeps. What is the correct method to install replacement outer door sweeps?
here is a picture of the door trim and sweep felt that will have to be removed and replace.

If they are new sweeps and made for the car...I think what gm did is melt the plastic insert pieces so they would widen and hold the sweep to the plastic window sill. If I remember what mine looked like... If that is truely the case you could heat up a flat metal object with a torch and press the plastic shafts that go thru the holes down to hold the sweep
The drill and zip tie method is a simple good idea. I should have thought of that. We tried to use metal rivets and it was a pian. they would not squish flat enough!
