Parking Brake Lever

So I am trying to put a 4th gen center console in my car, and I've got everything out, except the parking brake before i can slam the new one on.

I cant seem to figure out how to get that tension cord that sets the parking brakes, off.

Is it just a twisting thing, or what? I am lost here.

you can get the console on without taking the parking break out. just pull it as high as it goes, then slide the console on.

r u switching to a 4th gen parking lever? just curious, the 3rd gen one will allow the 4th gen console to slide over it if it's pulled high up, in the same way that the thirdgen console comes off. If you're swapping levers, i'm not 100 % , as i didn't swap mine, although, i should take the time to go ahead and do it...already have the damn thing sittingi n the basement.

yeah I'm switching to a 4th gen lever.

I dont have a problem getting the lever out, it's the thing of getting the cable that connects to the rear brakes, to come off of the lever so I can completely remove it, and put the 4th gen assembly in.
