A-Pillar Question

There is some foam (or something) that is attached to my A Pillar that is all cracked and weathered.

Does anyone now where I can find replacement "foam"?

I was thinking about just buying a new A-pillar, but If I do buy a brand new one will it have this "foam" attached to it?

advance and autozone has some adhesive backed stuff that fills the whole quite nice. its 3M stuff and 14.99 or 15.88 depending who you buy it from.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about, but they've got enough replacement parts to practically build a whole car from scratch. Little pricey, but ya get what ya pay for.

I have the answer......

I found some rubber stripping in the J.C. Whitney catalogue that works/looks like factory. It looks like a triangle with one side a half round. just cut off the straight side you don't need. It has double sided tape on it already. this stuff is not vehicle specific. was about 16.00 for one side.

thats exactly what i was talking about in my previous post about autozone.
you can tear all the old weather strip off and put this new stuff on. im actually gonna put my weatherstrip on the actual metal rail on the car, not the a pillar plastic. im swaping in a 4th gen dash, and i think this will make it much cleaner with the 4th gen a pillars.
looking at the 3rd gen a pillar, this would work as well.

I replaced my a-pillar mouldings with new ones from GM, they came with the foam. My mouldings were totally warped from the heat though.
