restoring 1984 Z28, Interior/Seat Question Please!

first post! wanted to say hello... after searching google nonstop for some information regarding my issue i finally wound up here.

I picked up a semi built 1984 z28 off a buddy of a buddies uncle (if that makes sense) and i plan on restoring it, i got it for a good price and with some loving it will turn out to be a very nice weekend car. First and foremost ive ripped the interior down to nothing im going to buy a parts car and hit up a few junk yards to replace cracked/broken items and im taking all the upholstery/carpet and cleaning it then dying it black (used to be tan) ive had little problems so far until i get to the headrests on the damn seats, how in gods name do these come out? usually there is a button on the side of the headrest base, not the case here. so far nothing i can see, ive even tried the "push them all the way in then pull out fast" method with no luck.

Anyone able to point me towards what im overlooking?
thanks!

You have to slide a thin flat metal piece(like a hacksaw blade or those thin metal rulers)down the headrest bar into the seat.I forget if its the front or back ,but i believe its the back part of the bar.Slide it down about 8 inches.hen just pull out the headrest.there is a reatiner in the seat that prevent the headrest from sliding all the way out.The item you use has to be flat & ridgid enough to slide into the seat to unlock or release the headrest bar.
