How do I keep from wearing out the leather on my steering wheel?

Yeah.. I know, dont drive the car right!

Well.. I finally scored I near mint leather wrapped wheel for my IROC! Not easy to find a 90-92 in good shape for sale. How can I keep it that way? Ive used leather polish and conditioner on it. I had to start driving it daily again.

Would one of those covers keep it from wearing? IM not crazy about them, but if it keeps the wheel nice. Or would it cause more wear then holding it with my hand.

Any Ideas?

I would not worry about wearing out the leather steering wheel.
Mine is 18 yrs old and shows no sign of wear, original owner of the car. A question? If you cover it, who are you saving it for????

Install a suicide *** on the wheel...then you'll save your leather AND turn like a bus driver.

Wearing it out a little is a lot more fun and a lot easier than swapping out the steering wheel everytime you show it
