AFAIK tubs are different, camaro fenders are taller and slope less than FB ones do,

and i cant believe you just said you dont like the FB noses! OMFG!

you mean to say you dont evne like the 82-84 t/a noses ?

OMG !

did you forget your meds today ?

personally the camaro fronts are not all that great, any of them, but the 82-84 Z28's are ok looking, i suppose... better than anything 85-up anyways,

IMHO,.

lol

AFAIK such swap cant be done, but ive never fit tried, but with all the times ive disassembled FB's and maro's i noticed differences in the tubs shape design between the maros and FB's that seemlingly prevent such a swap from happening

very easily.

good luck

flip ups are sweet, a way to hide headlights, very cool, make sleek smooth look, just adds even more to the FB's beauty, camaro open headlights are fugly, too bulky messy too much junk up front, firebirds sleek smooth no junk, just nothing but smooth painted surfaces and look like they are ready to fly, always

good luck

that's why they built these two different cars. You can swap the parts though, however, you're not simply swapping a nose, you'll be swapping hoods, and fenders as well. Really not that much work, might have to remove some of the mounting hardware for the headlight assembly (never looked @ a maro one, might be different, than the firebird bar that the pop-ups mount too) shouldn't be that hard if you can scounge the parts. Has been done, sometimes looks funny, sometimes looks ok, never "AMAZING" but sometimes ok. Actually saw on in town about three times last year, haven't seen the car since, was a Z28 w/ firebird front on it, then the maro 1/4's and taillight assembly, assuming doors as well.

I have had the front end off my 84 T/A and a friends 87 Camaro IROC. The front unibodies are the same. You could technically swap one from the other but it would require fenders and hood and many other small clips and brackets.

Its an illusion that makes the Firebirds front end look lower. With the Firebird's flip up headlights the front of the car goes farther past the radiator support than the Camaro.

Cool Some one Else Is going to do it also. My brothers 1984 Ta was involved in a accident, He hit a deer and a telephonepole at the same time, and the damage is the hood, Headlights and passanger side fender. I cant belive it didn't hurt the nose but it is fine. Well anyways we soon found out that it will be cheaper and less of a headach to put a camaro front clip on and the TransMaro Idea was Born to us. We should swap pics when done.

so all F body tubs are the same ?

i stand corrected in that case

i could have sworn there was a thread about this last year where it was decided that the front body parts could not swap due to the firebirds slope and all being different

im lost

ill just stay out of threads like this form now on

good luck, happy swapping, be careful with the firebird parts,
what year is the bird ?
if they are t/a fenders with vent cutouts and are for sale then lemme know i need a pair for my 82 t/a and headlight motors also and parking lamps just under hood that sit on rad support

thanks

You have to replace the fenders and hood to do the swap... I have seen Firebirds with a Camaro Doghouse and Camaros with a Firebird Doghouse.

Unfortunately the wheel well openings are different, the Camaro is more elongated, the Firebirds are round. So they do not match front to back...

yeh the camaros wheel lips are huge and come out a ways, the firebird oens dont, are smoother/narrower, by far

you see HUGE differences when you look at a camaro and then at a bird or vice versa

they are just totally different, and if you look at distance from top side of fender in center of wheel arch down to bottom of wheel arch opening on the two you see big time differenc ein that distance also,

bird fenders larger wheel openings or shorter fenders, than camaro ones

good luck

The wheels arches are pretty much the same.
The only real difference is the height and length of the fender.

If you want to compare.. there's a neat picture right above the start of this post... says "Thirdgen.org message boards".. has a camaro and firebird right next to each other.

Addition of GFX is the only added illusion that makes the opening appear different.

I remember a Fiberglas version of the IROC nose that you could get for El Caminos... Would that make it an El Camaro?

I wouldn't mind putting some vented fenders on my Camaro I think it would add to the styleing a little

As long as you have a real IROC, RS or.........., having a base Camaro is scrapin the bottom of the barrell on the 3rd gen line.

With the picture I posted above, the measurement (red arrow) is the same on the camaro or the firebird... 31.5"

If you want to know where I got my measurements from.....
