As far as i know, my base model sport coupe has no GFX its just plain, but the iroc-z z28 i parted out for all the body components, the GFX has a recessed area for the Z28 emblem that is just taped in.

If there is an emblem in the ground effects on an '87, they should not be held in with double sided tape....
On the back of the emblem there are 2 tabs that mount into the holes on the ground effects. This is what holds them on. If they have tape, they were prolly broken b4 and this is how someone reattached them.....
Never heard of them held on with tape B4

on 87 base camaros, the short gfx piece attached to bottom of fender right behind front tire, did they have a spot for a badge in them or were they smooth no badge on base model ?
87 base model camaros don't even have ground effects at all. and where the ground effects would go is smooth, so they must have put ground effects on it from a Z28 which would have had a spot for the Z28 emblem which may have been broken off, or replaced, or whatever
