Inside door handles

My Inside door handle broke the other day, and i got a new one from the junk yard but i dont know how to take it off. heres the pic of the old one on the door. if you look at it, it looks like there is a screw coming from the back side of the door but you cant get to it and i cant see what type of screw it is. And it doesnt even feel like a screw.

Either a screw or another rivet.

It is a rivet. Home Depot sells rivet guns....fairly inexpensive.

Had to do the same thing on a broken handle. All you need to do is use a drill bit just a little larger than the actual "hole" in the center. It will take out the actual pin and the flare on the back side.

New handle in, new rivet, done
