Oh yeah, and it's not good for your car to run it dry like that.

really? because on my gage cluseter im almost positive theres a thing that says "low fuel" and its just never lit up. same type deal as the "service engine" light. and i no its not good to lean out the engine, but i couldve given 2 ***** about that 150k tbi motor, lol. i was just curious and i was waiting and waiting to see the dam thing light up. lol, does ne one have ne clue about what that could have been? is there n e thing that resembles it on the gage cluster. or am i just nuts and have to go look at it again?

in my '00 TA the "check engine light" triggered when fuel was low. Really freaked me out when it first happened.

Yep, you are just nuts and will have to go out and look at it again. There should be an emblem for a gas pump on the cluster face designating the gage as a fuel gage but other than that it serves no purpose and has no light for it.

Its not just the engine, its the fuel pump as well. The gas in the tank cools the pump. No gas = overheating pump = dead pump.

It's probably just me (and the cold frosties I've had) but, I find it sad that one has to have a light/reminder that 'E' actually means the gas tank is nearly empty and you need to put more gas in the tank, not.. 'I can go 200 more miles before running out of gas'.
Just me, my opinion and whatever...

I've never seen it listed in any option list, but I've seen a low fuel warning light in a 1st Gen Z28, RS/SS. It was at the bottom of the circular bezel of the Tick-Tock-Tach.
