I Want It Black!!!!
alright my plans for SOM have gone down a dark drain....i want to change my car to BLACK. i saw a pic of a black 91 Z on the boards a while ago and i forget whos it was but it had the SS hood, parked on a lawn besides a shed facing foward at an angle to the right. whom ever that car belongs to, it inspired me to go black. i was wondering if anyone know of a paint code to get a really deep gloss black? i know clear coat is involved but i want to make sure i get the right black. i want that nice "Mirror" effect of a black paint job.
thanks

Go for it, black is one of the hardest colors to paint though. I hope you're ready to do some body work, because if its not absolutly perfect, you'll know it once that shiney black paint is laid down. Using a high quality wax, like Formula 113 will help give it that reflection you want.

it was prob 84CustomZ28.. Yea his car is pretty cool. Black is awesome! It can be the best color, but at the same time it can be ugly! Its a PITA to keep up with. But if you polish it for a few hours, man nothing beats a shiny black thirdgen

i am still thinking about it...not 100% sure on goin black but i am very **** when it comes to my car staying clean. i enjoy those long 1-2 hour hand wash/buff/wax jobs that i do with my car that is currently red, very nice condition too for original paint. i dont plan on painting the myself as i dont have any of the supplies nor a place to do it but i am looking into a proffessional body shop that also offers a nice 8-10 year guarantee on the lasting quality of their work...good enough for me unless anyone knows of better around the MA area? im sure (hoping) that they will do quality work in prepping the car for black paint....
. anyone know of custom paint shops in MA area that do show quality paint jobs? id prob consider them for doing my car?
thanks
