Grant wheel..... horn problem

Heya again... I noticed alot of people here seem to have Grant Steering wheels. Well, I became yet another thirdgen owner of one...... The 4 spoke silver Challenger series one......I love how it looks but...

I put the lil wire into the fiber side of the ring, for the horn. I hook up the button but the sound doesn't go. Did anyone else here have problems hooking up their horn with their Grant wheel?

I post it here seeing as its an interior related issue and many of you have probably encountered a small issue and may know what I did wrong...

I've always had problems with that steering wheel. I've installed one in my bros S-10 and installed/re-installed one in my Fiero many times and I've had to take it appart a few times to get it to work. First thing I would try is remove the horn button and then take the connector and touch some metal with it. That should make the horn go off. If it doesn't then the wheel assembly is not your problem. That's just a place to start.

they seem to be quite troublesome. when i put mine on, my horn just constantly went off, so i disconected it, and got a seperate horn button from AutoZone to mount it on the dash. i just havnt gotten around to it.

It goes off when it touches one of the shoulder bolts. So the assembly seems sound yet the horn refuses to go off when the button is pressed. I have the foil on the back and all... still being stupid.

black85iroc-

That sounds like something I could do but i really hate having this 40 dollar wheel that just looks so awesome but doesn't serve half its purpose (to honk at morons on the streets lol)

Its illegal to not have a horn, isn't it?
