Found rust on the iroc

Tonight when I was adjusting my ttops, I pulled the headliner down behind the ttops, and noticed some rust in the metal underneath the roof. How should I go about fixing it? The rest of the car is rust free.

If it were me i'd go nuts and take the entire car to metal and reshoot it, unfortuantely for my bank account i am a perfectionist.

I'd sand it down to metal, acid etch prime it and get some duplicolor or some sort of factory touch up for it!Sounds like its pretty minor so it shouldnt be a big issue

I think I'm going to do it. Can I use that POR-15 stuff instead of paint, being as it is under the headliner?

If you use POR-15 make sure you get something to cover your interior with. I would say a outdoor tarp. I've used POR-15 many times and it DOESN'T come out of ANYTHING. Good luck!

I agree,That Por-15 can be nasty...I used that "invisible glove" cream from Pep Boys on my hands/arms when I worked with it.
You still need Lacquer Thinner to clean-up anything it gets on....needless to say, even that wouldnt work on anything thats fabric
My driveway still has spots of Por-15 on it 2 years later!
Good luck...its the cats azz for what you need
Later

Unless your me Havn't had good luck with that stuff. Only thing it stuck to was my clothes and . Peels and sands off my car way too easily. Also peeled off my driveway and hands fairly easily, and my hands were COMPLETEY covered in it several times and allowed to dry.

Two tricks I learned to get it off skin very easily was while its still damp spray carb cleaner or wd-40 or similar and it comes right off. And two if you get some of it on your skin and it dries either scratch if off with your nails or to peel it off in one piece by applying more to the skin so its relatively thick and allow to dry. When dry and thick enough it will just peel off.
