Clear coat
Is it possible to spray a clear coat on front & rear bumpers to get back that gloss? It is a 83 T/A and the paint is orig.red.

clear coat wouldnt get your gloss back im pretty sure.
youd have to polish it somehow, i used scratch remover for parts of my car and brought the paint from dull and crappy to new looking and shiny. the scratch remover also removes all the wax so you could use the scratch remover and then put a few layers of clear coat on, but personally i would just use scratch remover and then wax it really good, that should work good.
try using kit scratch remover from walmart or get some wax and try that, both of those worked for getting the shine back into my paint (mine was really bad)
the right half is what my whole car was like when i got it, the right half is after using some turtle wax, thats it

Hi Larry,
I'm sorry to say, that with the original paint, THAT would be, about impossible.
To just spray clear on, you would have to, at first, de-wax, scuff, or wet sand, (Without going throught the original clear, and not removing any RED).
From what I remember from my car, it took hardly any effort, and I was through the paint, and into the black undercoat in no time.
I would try buffing the original paint first( As said above), and see what kind of results you get with that.
Good Luck,
Leon.
