Camaro emblem question...

I found a set of emblems on ebay but it said for 83-84 camaro and then gave the deminsions of 7in long 1 1/4 tall. I have an old emblem of my car but it didn't measure 7in long but did measure the 1 1/4 tall. My question is, is there a difference in the size of emblems from year to year. I need emblems for an 86 Camaro.

I know that from 85-92 they were all the same. I'm pretty sure that 82-84 is also the same.

"pretty" sure.

There also is emblems on here for sale that are for 85-87 and then there are some that are for 82-92. But these othere sales do not give the deminsions of the emblems. I am complete lost on this one cause i thought they were all the same.

Which emblems are you looking to replace, rocker panel, or rear bumper cover? To be sure you get the correct emblem, I would go with the most specific year you can get on off of ebay. But if there is a picture and it looks the same as yours, then it should the right size. Most thirdgen parts on ebay are listed 82-92, because most of everything is interchangeable, but not necessarily correct. For example, IROC emblems on a 91. Listing parts as 82-92 gives the seller more hits, and/or they dont know what year car its off of. Anyways, if you are looking for IROC emblems, no 82-84 emblems would be of use to you, nor 91, 92. Rocker panel emblems will be the same size 85-92, if not 82-92. Bumper cover emblems will be different for different IROCS. I'm no expert on year by year emblems, but I think there are IROCZ28 ones, 5.0's, and 5.7's for bumper covers. I think rockers also changed within the IROC era. A post or search in history/restoration would answer that.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for the z28 rocker emblems. I didn't know if there was different z28 emblem sizes made for the rocker panel.
