Anyone ever put home carpet in their car? Is it possible to mold it around curves yourself?

I am thinking of buying some carpet, cutting it in shape using the old one as a mold, putting a thin slice in the back part of it to allow it to bend, then applying heat to hold the position.

Would this work?


Buying a pre-molded carpet is too expensive for us in Canada, because they all gotta be shipped from the states.
