ttop seals.. ques on parts

when i take off the t-tops.. in the center where the "I" in the roof is.. there are 2 metal panels.. what exactly are they? mine have surface rust on em.. and i believe to get em off you have to remove the seals? .. are these things also glued on? I'm thinking on redoing seals.. just wondering what im getting into with these 2 metal panels..

thanks.

Yes you have to remove the t-top seals to get that center bar out. It is two formed sheet metal pieces that were are spot-welded together. It is attached with a few screws, which you will see once you get the t-top seal out of the way. There is a bit of a tar-like sealant under it too. Use a putty knife to remove it. I see them listed from time to time on eBay.
