Possibly twisted frame...

Well the past 2 days ive kinda been thinkin my car has a twisted frame. why? because my mechainc that owned it about 12 yrs ago said he hit a deer on the passenger side, hence why i have a cowl hood and the passnger side door and fender dont line up right.

also i came to relize this after thinkin why my edelbrock 3 point stb hit the passenger side hood really bad. causing it not to close all the way on that side. so i cut out big cunks of the hood so it would close, also this is after makin mounts to lower the stb some but still didnt help. driver side has plenty of clearence.

after owning the car since i was 16 and finally realizing that the car is in worse shape then i knew, is kinda hurtin me and afterthe thousand of dollars ive put into this car.

as soon as i get an exuast system back on this car its off to the body shop to see if the frame is messed up. also does anythink that the floor boards being rusted thru played a part in this?

i think this summer is goin to really suck if what im thinking is a reality.

Re: Possibly twisted frame...

Spend $200 and take it to a body shop with a frame machine to find out. Then spend another $300 to get it fixed if it is. The floor rot would need to be REALLY bad to allow the frame to twist.

Re: Possibly twisted frame...

Hey lex, how badly was yours twisted? Did your body line up, before you had it straightened? I want to see if mine is twisted before i spend too much money on her. And how many hours did the body shop have yours for?

I dunno about hours and for the most part no alignment issues. Just def tweaked. I had them do a straighten and a quarte panel all at once.
