Stainless Door Pin Bushings, Good Idea??
I thought I had covered all the pros and cons when I decided to make them, but today I think I may have made a bad choice in material from a long time wear stand point. With the stock set up the bushings would be the part that is designed to wear, right?? If so, the harder s/s material would turn the pin into the wear item. Am I just over thinking things? I can make S/S pins to go with them.
Even if it doesn't work out it was a fun project and to anyone that complains about paying $80 for the sets TDS and others sell I say, it's worth it lol! It took me 2hrs to make them (using 1.5" round bar, all I could find lol) and that was just the bushings, add in the 6 pins and I'd say you have about 4hrs into them, plus operation and material cost, $80 isn't so bad!
