Installing this trenz billet grille !ugh!
What grille is it that i need to use for the outer trim peice. The iroc style with the fog lamp openings. Or the regular RS peice that has a hole bunch of plastic strips going across.. I'm confused on which i need i heard those 2 grilles were used but whats the best

Every post I have seen about it says you need the RS grill... that would make sense to because there would be more to attatch it to.. sorry never put one on before tho.

RS grill is what I used. cut out the slats and riveted it in place. I have seen someone use a z28 grill and just place the new grill inside it and rivet it in place there but not sure how that would look. mine looks great.


I originally used the one from a 91 Z28 w/ fog lights. I say do it with no OEM grill. Install the billet one directly against the GFX (or test fit it to see if you like it). I think it looks much better this way.

calm down, just answered a question. as for seeing where you cut off the slats it all depends on if you do a hack job. after cutting mine out, I sanded it and then it was primed and painted using primer and paint for flexiable body panels. after the slats are cut out there is no real rigidity to the outer ring so it is a bit difficult to work with.

well i got the rs grille, do you think i'm on the right track? It is rubber correct. Very flexible. I have a lot of cutting to do still to bring it down flush. Maybe use a razor.
