I'm Having problems with the Power hatch/electric pulldown...

I have a 92 RS with the power hatch release. the problem is that somtimes after use the power hatch release, and go to close the hatch (with the electric pulldown), the hatch will go all the way down, click, and come back up. It's happened on 2 occasions sicne we bought the car last week and its on seemingly random instances that we can actually get it to close again. Is there any trick to getting it closed, is this a common problem ,and is there anything else i should know about???

i'd just take it out. mine broke and i just took it out because it's just a pain in the ***. but since then, my hydraulics on the hatch have stopped working, as have the ones on the hood, so i need to get those replaced.

I cant remember how it works at all but I think there just a little toggle-like switch that gets flipped when the guides come down and that should kill the juice but Im not sure at all.

Maybe it works like a glove-box - how if you push over the little switch and try to close it, it can't? maybe you need to push over that switch again if there is one. I guess it sort of works as a locking mechanism.

One thing is for sure, I've seen a lot of hatch motor problems.
