has anyone tried to modify the 3rd brake light on an 86 fbody?
I was thinking about trying to mount the light to the interior instead of outside. I see some other cars with an interior light in the same location. I hate that big lump on the hatch but don't want to swap hatches.

The thing with the 86 hatch glass (and the few 87's that used the same light) is that the housing is attached with two bolts running through the glass, leaving two holes about an inch in diameter that would need to be filled.
About the only mod you could do is install LED's that will last, well, almost forever in place of the bulbs.

I removed mine. I hate that 3rd brake light, I think it messes up the flow of the body. I just kinda capped the holes up until I can get new glass.And you cant move the light to the inside, thats what I was gonna originally do but it wont go in right.
