Rear wheel well/hatch rust.
When I open the hatch on my car and I look on the right where the spare tire is supposed to sit I can see the ground. On the opposite side where the storage compartment is, I look in and I see the ground. What is the best way to repair this? I was thinking about taking a die grinder and sanding it all down, taking 16 gauge sheet metal and welding the hole closed. Anyone have any suggestions? Can I weld there with the gas tank? Also grounding to the body will I get shocked being in the car or touching it? Let me know, Thanks.

I would drop the tank. but welding and then undercoating would be ideal. The only other way I see would be to rivet it then use seam sealer, then undercoat it but I don't think that would last as long. I guess it all depends on what kind of use you have for the car.

v8nate92rs, this is a little off topic but i just noticed that you are running the performer tbi manifold, do you like it? I ask because i just bought one but have yet to put it on and would like to know if it bolted up smoothly and if it gives a noticeable differnce in power. thanks,
Derek
