Has anyone on this board ever done the Covan's gauge bezel? If so, did you have any clearance problems with the mounting brackets for the speedo and tach? also, is there any cheap, relatively quick way to switch from a cable driven to electric speedo? I am in the middle of the swap then i realized i was sent the wrong sender and i would prefer to not have to drive without my speedo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

i have the corvan gauge cluster and went from cable to electric speedo. all you goin to use is nothing from the stock set up and only use the stock bolts and wiring harness. the corvan piece just bolts up. wiring was alittle problem since the factory doesnt give you much to play with. as far as the cable to electric speedo. i did it the expensive right way. bought the autometer sending unit and works fine but i got a small trans leak from mine becuz i dont think i got it to seal all the way. i think mainly becuz of the install kit ofr the th350 for these cars. the bracket gets in the way. if you have the stock 700 you should be fine.

i went with the kit also and went with the electric speedo too, i think as soon as i get some free time i will make my own wiring harness cause theres seems to be too much extra wire in theirs

 

i used all the wires in there kit and only ended up with 4 wires from the stock harness. but they went to nothing since i dont have a computer so pretty much, every wire was used on both harness's.

 

now i'm having a problem in which every time i hook the tach up, the car will no longer start. Any ideas???
