Heritage Stripe Pattern

I know that there is a vinyl Heritage pattern avavilable, but I would rather have it painted on. However, I want to ensure that the body guy uses the right sizes and proportions to match the original stripping. This is my delema. What is the best way for me to get the right pattern for "historical accuracy" if I paint them on instead of the vinyl? Are there any sheets available that have the outline for the pattern?

Well, you could always paint the area where the stripes are the color you want the stripes to be, lay down the vinyl stripes, then paint the rest of the car, then remove the vinyl, it may not sound like a good idea, but it will be the perfect match

I painted on my stripes using a stencil I made myself. And used the PPG paint as well. Be careful, because the PPG paint sucks and tends to peel right off of the car if you stick anything to it. I took some tape off of the spoiler after painting it and it peeled off the clear, and paint, right down to where we started...

the best way to aviod that is to begin peeling the tape off in the opposite direction of the paint, or you might begin to lift the existing paint, this can happen with any paint product, and yes it sucks, very much
