Opinions on those side trim pieces?

I don't know what to call them, just those long plastic trim pieces that run down the outside of the car on the middle of the door. I'm debating pulling them off. I don't have the rounded ones, and they aren't body color so its looks even worse than the others. Just curious what everyone else thinks of it.

Door side molding. If they are straight, mail them to me I'll take them. I believe the 88+ cars have the rounded side molding that is the same color of the car.

Just like mine, 87

Should just be adhesive holding them on. Then again, someone parks just a little too close next to ur car, and instead of hitting the door molding he puts a ding the size of quarter in your door.

I took mine off, and all emblems as well. I like the clean look, and waxing is easier too.

I left mine on when I got new paint (both times). Too many parking lots and too little money for new dent rapair. For show cars - maybe it's okay to take it off...but I wouldn't want the dents that come with it being a DD.

Well first dent and they are going right back on, haha. I pulled them off and love the look, but maybe I'll keep them around since they can't be worth much money.

I don't work at a grocery store. I'm careful when parking too so I'm not to concerned about dents.

Wow, nice car. I was thinking about taking that sticker border off between the silver and blue. Looks slick on your car.

gtaproject- That car looks really good without the door moldings. I was debating whether or not to leave them off before I got my car painted, but, after looking at some of the cars here, I decided it looked too plain. Your's would probably have changed my mind. Great car!

If you have the earlier style, good luck getting it off. My buddies 85 TA had the thing black strip and it was riveted on. We had to drill 'em out before we repainted that side.

Is that legal? My buddy takes up 2 parking spaces with his monte SS, just pulls in dead center in the middle of two lines so no one will park near him. I know if I did that it would be just my luck to come out of a wawa and see a cop giving me a 100$ ticket for using 2 spaces.

I ****ing hate that. Unless you're parking out in the middle of nowhere, learn to park. It's like coloring, stay between the damn lines. You're buddy isn't special.

He double parks all the way in the back of parking lots and walks. Wawa for example has parking all around it, so instead of parking in front of the store he'll park behind it where no1 else is and walk the extra 100 ft to the front.

Gotta do what you gotta do. I'll probably be parking ALL the way in the back of the parking lot to keep my car safe once the new paint is on.

Thing is though, say I'm at the mall, and I park my car in east gibip with not a single car around me. If I park taking up 2 spaces can a cop give a ticket for that?

Cops can be real a**holes. If you double park in an empty parking lot, I bet some jerk would see that and give you a ticket, even if it's no inconvenience to anyone.

Screw door dings, around here that's just asking to get keyed or bumped..

Yup. Someone parks anywhere but way out in the boonies that uses two spots and if I can I'll park my solid axle pathfinder on 35's, 3/4" from your driver door.

The trim is still left intact on my car. Its a daily driver and Houston drivers are pretty damn disrespectful of other people's property. Its a must have around here.
