I have been through the idea around in my head about some different paint schemes, and the one i would really like to do is white body with black grounds & spoiler.

So all in all, i want to black tint the windows, black spoiler, black grounds, and then the white body color. Has anyone ever done this to their car or have pictures of a car like this...

I did try search..but no results that i needed.

 

I saw this on a 1991 base Firebird. It had T-tops with dark tint as well. The mirrors, spoiler, and headlight doors were painted black. I thought it looked pretty nice....the headlight doors looked a bit out of place though

 

Pontiac also did the same scheme with the T/A in 1984 when they introduced the aero package.

 

Thank you both for your replies. I am now pretty sure that i will go with that paint scheme. I think that it will make the car look awesome!!

 

Also the 83 Daytona Pace Car T/A had that scheme.....look for some pics of those...I had seen someone on here with them....but can't quite put my finger on it....Actually my 83 is white with black spoiler, T-Tops, black lower door skins and such...but not a DPC though.....I'l see if I can dig up some pics for ya!

my paint scheme is very, very similar to your idea except i dont have ground effects. but i do have the black spoiler, black rocker panels(which would be your groud effects) and i am tinting my windows black tomorrow 35% on sides 20% on the back. Also, to complete the black and white scheme my car already had i have a set of professionaly refinished GTA wheels and tinted tail lights. I didnt take pics with the GTA wheels yet but i will after i get my tint tomorrow.

That's a nice car!!! I like those wheels! Are you thinking of taking them off and putting on the GTA wheels? If so what are you gonna do with those wheels?

 

thanks, i already put the GTA's on the bird and it looks great. i just cleaned up the turbo cast wheels today and i am going to list them on ebay with the bowling ball hubcaps within the next week if everything goes according to plan.

btw, i already dismounted those 23 year old tires

I have something semi- like that...does have black stuff on the bottom, though not as much as the previous pictures (more than the all white one though )

i got quite a few offers for outside ebay purchases. so instead of trying to talk to everybody and try and make everyone happy i was just going to list them on ebay and let everybody who offered know with an email or pm.
this is because i saw a guy on this board who had promised his 15" turbo cast wheels to about 3 seperate guys and it got kind of ugly.

I wouldn't call it ugly....just some aren't as reliable or as ferverent about what they want. It's just sad though at how the price for USED cast aluminum rims has jumped up higher than the price for new chrome rims and all because of the Knight Rider community, myself included, looking to stop at nothing to get the accurate wheels. I also realize that it puts a huge damper on anyone else that is just a restorer bringing a car back to it's original condition. So if you're gonna bull**** on an offer or not have more to offer, sorry but that's how the capitalist world works...ain't it a bitch?
It's only my opinion, but I think you should rally up the offers on here.....Only fitting to give the team here first dibs rather than some yahoo from the middle of bum**** nowherebidding on them just to have some nifty hubcaps for his wall and to use the rims as a dinner chair set

Hey I'm stuck in between the KR world and the Converting to 82 Style So I feel the pain of both sides trying to get those wheels and caps.

 

Heh...anything I can do to help before another person gets victimized by having to purchase these rims in the $1000+ range...it's just ridiculous

 

I think what happened was:

Seller: For sale for $XXX.
Buyer 1: Ok I'll buy them.
Buyer 2: Hold on! I'll pay more!
Buyer 3: I'll beat that offer.
Buyer 1: But I was first .

etc.

 

Actually the guy just wanted to trade wheels, not sell them....I was the one who "won" that whole ordeal. I traded him my 2nd gen 15 X 8 diamond spokes with tires and then some. I won't delve into all the details until the whole transaction is complete....Canada Post is gruelingly slow.

 

that one is totally identical to one i just found locally for 400 bucks

i dont like white much but its ok
tinted windows help somewhat though
