Racing seats in a 3rd gen?
Just looking for pics, I'm considering seats that will keep me in my seat a bit better.

Mounting seats:
Nope, they don't match up. Here's what I did:
1. Take the seat tracks off of your stock seats.
2. Take the seat tracks off of the APC seats. Throw them away or something.
3. Line up your stock tracks to the bottoms of the APC seats. You will be drilling holes in the bottom of your APC seats near the front edge of the metal that the APC tracks were mounted in. The tracks will barely fit, so you will be drilling holes close to the center of the seat (see picture).
4. Cut the fabric around the area you will need to drill.
5. Double check that the mounting holes on the tracks are as far to the front of the seat as possible. Do one side as a time. Drill your holes. You will need the mounting spacers that were on the APC tracks, in addition to several washers to space out the thirdgen tracks far enough from the seats so that you can use the front-back lever (if you have manual seat tracks).
6. The mounting holes in the stock thirdgen tracks that mount the seats to the floorpan probably will not fit, because the metal support in the seats doesn't go far enough to the center of the seat. You will need to widen the mounting holes for the seats. Also, on the stock tracks, the wire that controls the seat lever will need to be removed from one side, and bent in a different place so that the tracks can be mounted farther away from each other without the seat sliding all over the place.
I'm sure there are brackets that can be fabbed, but my way worked. It's pretty hard to explain, so if you have any questions, PM me.

Bought them from a guy on the site.. I recovered them and they came out great. They should have come on Camaros in the first place.

Spdfrk, How tall are you?
I am 6'4 and about 240lbs and do not fit in many racing seats. I need to start checking into this more and find a dealer who stocks seats I can try before I buy. I am not fat, I am tall and broad shoulders so the waist may fit (36")but the upper backrest and shoulders on most do not.
What version of the Sparco is that and do they offer sliding tracks?
Thank you, Dean

They are sparco torino's im 6'2" 185 and they are on a sliding track. I got mine down low and they interfere with the stock belts if i was going to keep the stock belts. Might actually be better to use the 3rd gen brackets the sparcos were way to high so i welded the bracket strait to the sliders and didnt use the adapters they supplied. I like my seats as low as possible and they could actually be a lil smaller in the waste and bottom for me to save some room i can move about a inch each way.

I had to cut the brackets that came with my Corbeau TRS seats. I fit the seats fine I'm 205 and 6'1" however the brackets that they came with were to tall for my tastes so I cut an inch off of the legs and now it the fit is nice.
BTW Corbeau makes a wide version of most of their seats. Not that anyone is fat just thought I'd mention.

i noticed that you live in danville, yeah i am from there. iam actually going up there in couple weeks or maybe a month or so to do my engine swap. ill have to check that car out of yours out.

when out and snapped a pic quick and dirty. sorry about the flash washing everything out I can't fiqure out how to turn it off.
Everyone who sits in them loves the seats. If I had to do it again I'd spend the money on the lumbar option as 3+ hour drives start to get to me.

Is the third point mounted directly behind the seats? Sounds like spine compression waiting to happen if so.

Dean, I too am tall (6'3"). Though only touching 200, I am wide enough. I would see if you could find a local distributor of Recaro seats. They have some of the most comfortable seats and they can even fit a wide frame; shoulders, back, thighs, rearend, etc.

My buddy had Tenzo-R black ones in his civic I was goign to buy off him for the Camaro, they are freakin sweet, fit me good and I am 6'1, only was 175 at the time and I fit perfect in them. I'm still thinking about getting some for the Camaro, probably in black, maybe red to match the interior, we will see what the gf thinks.
izcain those look like the same shape as my sparcos and im also getting a cage would you happen to have any pictures of the cage near the arm rest or looking down with the door shut. Just some more pictures of the cage fitment really i am worried cause there isnt much room so if you had more pictures it would help alot.
Thanks

Sure I got several pics. I was worried myself man when I started that install but after I began it really turned out to be straitforward, just really time consuming!!! took 2 full days to get the cage in. I had the door swing out kits but after I looked at the bars I relized that I don't need them. It isn't that bad getting in and out of the car
