felts?

u guys know the felt things that push up on the door windows, i think there is 2 for each door. anyway on mine one on each door has gone bad so it scratches the windows a bit. i went to the yard and got some that dont look to bad but i still dont know for sure if they are any good and i want to tint my windows. is there something aftermarket that can be used? a place i can get them new? anything??? i dont want to pay for a tint job and these things scratch the heck out of them??

I was told they are called belt mouldings. The one on the inside is called the inner belt moulding and the one on the outside is the outer belt moulding. The outer costs about $80 for both I think from GM....but the inners are much more expensive for some reason. Hope this helps!

Oh......JC whitnety had some outer ones specifically for the 1982 - 1992 Camaro and Firebirds at a cheaper price.

I'm guessing the same thing as pondriver... the 2 guides that are bolted to the door sheel itself (pic attached).

The inner and outer belt w'strip (windlace, etc names) have such a gap in price due to the outer is just the outer seal. The inner come pre-attached to the upper door trim (black plastic piece on the door panel). The plastic part is the added cost.

JCW w'strip..... You would be just as well off taking the equivilant amount of cash from your wallet and setting it ablaze. It's crap. Mine is in the landfill, somewhere...

The outer felt strip is still available from GM. The inner has been discontinued, so I've been told.
